Work in Progress

Here’s a view of the PCB. There’s a mini-USB connector for upgrade, and a male 30-pin connector (extrem right) to connect to your iPhone/iPod Touch for jailbreak/tethered boot.
Size is 60×30mm, and I had no choice but to add a 9v battery for power since the 3.3v from the dock isn’t available under iBoot.

Concerning the project, I don’t know yet if source will be released. Who blamed George Hotz or dev-team ? I should have a think about this.

I should receive the first batch for mid-february. Stay tuned !

Oh man! I’m gonna have to bust out the soldering iron and relive grade 10 electronics… that’s a loooong time ago.

Congrats to you and everyone who were crazy enough to come up and work on an idea for a DIY iDongle!!!

Brilliant!

Congratulations to all who participated in this project! A project is well and good.

I’m definitely geeky & DIY, but my understanding of electronics is incomplete at best, so I have extra admiration. Again, well done.

Well, being a newbie , a iPhone fan, a DIY aficionado and an arduino geek, this post is simply the “summa” of all my passions.
Wow!

Fantastic! I had given up on this project long ago. I’m going to have to dig in and see if I can make a go of this. Even if I come up short I feel like we all owe a huge thanks to those who poured so much time and effort into developing this for the community.

A few years ago I would have jumped on this, but these days DIY electronics isn’t something I have the time for.

So I will admire from afar the fortitude it took to complete this project.

Congrats!

Hey, I’m interested… have soldering skills, limited programming ability, and live near the Canada/US border, so if there are people in Canada interested I can import in bulk.

So, assuming we’re talking the $50 neighbourhood, sign me us for 3 or so.

I’d love to play around with a kit. I guess you can ship to the UK and take payments using Paypal? Just thinking ahead!

how many units would need to be sold (or pre-sold) for you guys to set up manufacturing/assembly so people who are DIY-tarded can get the units without frustration?

i dabble with electronics and know what you mean regarding many things not being as hard as they initially seem. this is another one that seems too hard for me. i would love it if you buy this stuff from electronic store !?!?

How much does this cost ?
I am very curious to hear any feedback about what price range in which anybody has been able to build this project. I find it very, very interesting.
